Tailor Birds Releases Single ‘Bluebird’
Bluebird, is a gorgeous step forward into the Tailor Birds world – a chance to dream, a chance to wander through the mist, to float through a world of light and dark, as we then wake up from our dreams to the beautiful real life crisp birdsong. Richer, dreamier, perhaps even darker and more vibrant than her last recordings, Bluebird is as wild as the place it was recorded in – a converted henhouse in Ireland, a former home of goats & chickens.
This song is the first single of 9 beauties releasing monthly through the year before 2027 sees the release of the stunning 3 part album.
This song features Tailor Birds’ creator, Sophie’s stunning vocals and her trademark live looped electric 5 string dreamy violin at the core of the sound, and features some stunning guests including Vinod Prasanna and Paya Lehane on flutes, Benjamin Smith on guitars, our long standing drummer, Daniel Brates on percussion, plus a guest vox shimmery moment from Terence who built the henhouse, and who also, alongside his wife opened his home for Sophie to record this album in. Bluebird also features plant music biosonification from the various studio sounds converted into electrical currents, including the steps of the ladder that was hanging out in the studio, some aloe vera, and a paper birch tree. Plus there’s the stunning foley art in the form of bird song, dog sounds, handwriting glimmers, and some smashed glass too. Recorded in the converted hen house studio, the song was then sent to our beautiful guest musicians across the globe, before the song was then threaded together

Dream folk musical wonder, electric violin magic, plant music biosonification, Tailor Birds has always tried to experiment with wondrous concepts, most recently recording the electrical currents of the studio walls via her plant music work. Live shows and her latest recordings aim to connect us all to a sound deeper than the earth, to help the listener regain a sense of calm and peace in a world of chaos, whilst also inspiring intrigue and wonderment. Reminiscent of the work of Nick Cave and Enya, and sometimes described as music for a video game not created yet, Tailor Birds’ performances have filtered through wild community experimental festivals throughout Europe, and in Australia from down in the Tarkine forest in Tasmania up to the rainforests in far north Queensland. This music sits on the edge of mainstream, but also fits into a world of its’ own.

Medusa’s Wake Releases EP ‘Echoes of Our Past’ For St Pats Day Shows
Often described as the love child of The Pogues and Australia’s own Roaring Jack, Sydney’s Medusa’s Wake deliver a powerful fusion of Celtic tradition, folk storytelling, and punk-fuelled intensity. Their sound blends rebel spirit with barroom melody — equal parts whiskey-soaked ballad and foot-stomping anthem — capturing both Irish heritage and Australian grit in one unmistakable voice.
Creeper
The first single from the new EP Echoes of our Past, Creeper is an engaging and uptempo tune that will have your feet tapping and your throat thirsting for Irish Whiskey and a cold Aussie Beer all at once.

The EP – Echoes of Our Past
Echoes of Our Past is a deeply personal and powerful release from Medusa’s Wake, born from a period of profound loss and reflection. The songs emerged after lead singer and songwriter Eddie Lawlor lost both his father and brother within sixteen months of each other in Ireland. In the space between grief and healing, these tracks took shape — not simply as songs, but as a way to process loss, honour memory, and reconnect with heritage.
Blending Celtic tradition with driving folk-rock energy, Echoes of Our Past carries the raw honesty that defines Medusa’s Wake while revealing a more mature and emotionally resonant depth. Themes of family, resilience, identity, and brotherhood run throughout the EP, transforming personal tragedy into communal strength. The result is a collection of songs that invite listeners to raise a glass, remember their own, and find solidarity in shared experience.
Rooted in storytelling and driven by heart, this release stands as both a tribute and a testament — proof that even in grief, powerful music can be born.
Upcoming Live Shows
This St. Patrick’s season features two Sydney appearances: the Mortlake Irish Festival (Friday 13th March) and the Echoes of Our Past EP Launch on Tuesday 17th March at Sydney Park Hotel, Newtown.
With further shows in Newcastle, Brisbane, and Tasmania on the horizon, Medusa’s Wake continue to unite audiences through music that celebrates heritage, rebellion, and the enduring power of song.
This will be a very big celebration of everything this band and the day itself stand for, Don the Green and don’t miss.
Formed over a decade ago, Medusa’s Wake have forged a reputation for commanding, high-energy live performances that turn venues into communal celebrations. With driving rhythms, rousing choruses, and anthemic hooks, their shows invite audiences to sing, stomp, and raise a glass in equal measure.
Their debut album Rascals and Rogues introduced a bold mix of working-class anthems, rebel songs, and traditional influences wrapped in a modern folk-punk edge. The release established the band as a rising force within Australia’s Celtic punk landscape.
Their latest release, the EP Echoes of Our Past, marks a confident evolution in both songwriting and musicianship. The record explores themes of heritage, resilience, loss, and camaraderie, delivering sharper arrangements and emotionally resonant storytelling while retaining the raw fire that defines their sound.
Across their ten-year journey, Medusa’s Wake have shared stages with genre heavyweights The Rumjacks, The Go Set, Handsome Young Strangers, and XLF (ex-Stiff Little Fingers). Performances in Melbourne and Tasmania have helped expand their grassroots following well beyond their Sydney base.

Lynn Patrick’s Latest Album ‘Water Stones’
Water Stones is the latest instrumental offering from award-winning guitarist and composer Lynn Patrick. Blending luminous acoustic guitar melodies with layers of mandolin, violin, upright bass, and gentle percussion, this mostly all-string collection draws from contemporary folk while subtly weaving in elements of jazz and country.
Each track flows with uplifting warmth and lyrical grace, showcasing Patrick’s expressive, heartfelt guitar work and gift for melody. The album’s title serves as a poetic metaphor for resilience and healing—how time and experience, like water shaping stone, soften the edges of life’s challenges and open the heart to compassion. From bright, joyful grooves to spacious, contemplative pieces, Water Stones offers a serene, emotionally rich listening experience that gently guides the listener inward, toward reflection, renewal, and peace. Whether played during moments of quiet solitude or shared as a calming backdrop to daily life, the music invites connection—to nature, to emotion, and to something greater. It’s a sonic landscape crafted not just for listening, but for feeling deeply.

Lynn Patrick grew up in Florida, surrounded by music. Her family sang and played instruments for fun—piano, ukulele, banjo, and guitar. Early experiences, including many trips to the ocean, swimming, snorkelling on coral reefs, sailing, and horseback riding, formed the foundation of her creative life. After earning a Humanities degree from Florida State University in 1983, she moved to Boston to pursue music, then settled in Colorado two years later, where the Rockies deeply inspired her sound. For the past 23 years, she has lived in the mountains west of Boulder, drawing inspiration and creative energy from the surrounding beauty. A lifelong lover of nature, Patrick channels the outdoors directly into her melodic, soulful, uplifting, and heartfelt guitar work.
She has produced, recorded, published and released six albums of original instrumental music and one singer/songwriter album, earning recognition for her signature guitar style. Patrick is a two- time Independent Music Award winner for Best New Age Song, a USA Songwriting Competition finalist, and a multi-time finalist with the Indie Acoustic Awards and the International Acoustic Music Awards.
The CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless, from Sony Pictures Television, featured her music for three years, during which she also spent a year as a show songwriter. Emmy Award–winning music supervisor Paul F. Antonelli, who regularly showcased her work on the series, says:
“Lynn’s music is beautifully poignant and filled with emotional nuance… she’s a master.”
Patrick’s compositions have also appeared in documentaries such as Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild, Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin, and Mariel Hemingway’s Running From Crazy, and her music has been featured on The Weather Channel, NPR, and SiriusXM. Across Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other platforms, Lynn’s music has been streamed more than 16 million times.
She has performed nationwide at venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre (opening for Dan Fogelberg), The Bitter End in New York, The Bluebird Café in Nashville, SXSW in Austin, as well as eTown, the Boulder Theater, and festivals throughout Colorado.

Tim Walker Releases Album ‘No Strings Attached’
Former Sydneysider Tim Walker’s songs are a folk-pop mix of reflective electric-acoustic music veering at times into pure indie rock territory.
The mood spans introspective thoughts on our dire environmental crisis (Copperhead, Every Story Tells a Picture) to the joyous celebration of love and pure fun (Love is for The Young (at Heart), Christine), then doubles back into angst (The Loving Arms) and aspiration (Star). One of the songs, featuring Tim on keyboards, is Streets of Rome, which was set in that city and features on his last major album release, Bridge of Angels – an actual tourist location. The album was released just as the pandemic hit our shores.
The most recent single is Pilot, which observes the explosion in travel of all types in the wake of the covid 19 crisis, as people try to shrug off the trauma of the confines and restrictions of the lockdowns. The songs are both light and dark and the collection concludes with a purely instrumental piece – a lighthearted jig, The Bolshie Swing. Tim performs regularly in Adelaide and Sydney.

Tim Walker is a singer-songwriter now based in Adelaide (ex-Sydney). His indie electric-folk/pop style reflects a city perspective, but with country, rock and jazz influences and universal themes. He began as a folkie at school, and continues its idea of personal stories, using electric rock guitars thrown in. As a tertiary student in Adelaide he was in a small country rock act doing mainly covers. Now as a soloist he is at his most prolific.
He moved to Sydney for work and continued playing after hours in many venues across town before releasing his first album, Fellow Traveller, with Foghorn Records in 2008. He followed this with a series of singles, then returned to Adelaide in 2018. He released the album Bridge of Angels in 2019, again through Foghorn Records.
He has played at several major music festivals including Peat’s Ridge and the Sydney Blues and Roots Festival Windsor (NSW), and the Port Noarlunga Blues Festival (SA).

JACK NOLAN
Will be Ross M Fear’s featured artist on
Alive 90.5 fm Australian Spectrum Show
9pm Tuesday 28 October 2025
featuring his latest album “The Lonely Petunia”.
“Jack Nolan’s music features mysterious and shimmering chords that unite his sound with that of the Americana genre, once quaintly described as ‘Darlinghurst Country’, uniting elements of folk, country, rock ‘n’ roll and ambient atmospheres” – Ross M Fear
“Nolan’s strength lies in his ability to craft songs that are both intimate and universal, music that asks the listener to feel, to consider, and to linger in the quiet aftermath” – Audrey Songvilay
https://amnplify.com.au/portfolio-items/jack-nolan-the-lonely-petunia-album-review-17th-october-2025/?portfolioCats=12711
“This is an album of quiet contemplation, introspection, supple, subtle, full of air and light as Nolan ponders the interstices of life, love and loss, as well as odd moments of doubt and even repentance, as he ponders “the Other”, who should be there… but isn’t” – Michael George Smith
Jack Nolan’s eighth solo album, The Lonely Petunia, sees him return to the childhood spark that ignited his musical journey. Recorded in Nashville and co-produced with long-time comrade Justin Weaver, this intimate acoustic collection showcases Nolan’s signature lyrical depth.
Though primarily acoustic, subtle piano and string arrangements on select tracks weave through his evocative storytelling, creating an ethereal yet tender sound. Despite American influences, the album’s heart remains firmly rooted in Nolan’s Australian upbringing—from Bondi’s beaches to the vibrant rhythms of Sydney Harbour. The Lonely Petunia is a solitary yet tender reflection, honouring music’s profound possibilities.

Jack Nolan was thinking, of that first moment, when songwriting suddenly felt possible, when the penny dropped. “In my mid-teens, sitting alone on my bed, acoustic guitar in hand, trying to get it all happening, when I realised – these greats I love, Dylan, Bowie, Pink Floyd et al are playing all the same chords I’m playing” he says nostalgically “I could do this too – It was one of those split seconds that can alter your life, floored by the possibilities, the potential of music.”
On Nolan’s new album, The Lonely Petunia, he went to find that boy again, to honour that moment, that subliminal decision with his acoustic guitar.
This intimate acoustic journey showcases the artist’s signature lyrical depth. Lush strings and piano add depth and character to Jack’s trademark storytelling. The album was produced by Justin Weaver, an American musician and producer celebrated for his collaborations with, amongst others, Wynona Judd and The Chicks. Nolan describes Weaver as a musical comrade, highlighting the great working partnership that spans over five albums.
Based in Sydney, Jack has been performing and releasing music and albums since the mid-1990s. In addition to an eight-album solo catalogue, Jack also fronted the Kelly Gang, alongside Rick Grossman, bassist for the Divinyls and Hoodoo Gurus, and Midnight Oil drummer Rob Hirst and guitarist Martin Rotsey. Their 2004 album, “Looking for the Sun,” remains a hidden gem, featuring an incredible lineup of musicians that delivered passionate and energetic live performances of the time.

Jack Nolan Releases Single ‘Craw’
Jack Nolan’s “Craw” is a potent critique of political hypocrisy (“one rule for us, one rule for them”). Its minor-key acoustic swing and upright piano evoke a raw, barroom feel. Nolan’s lyrics, “Run the rabbit / Run the preacher / Run the whore / Run the sirens / Run the law / It gets in my craw,” convey deep frustration with systemic injustice. Recorded at Nashville’s Curb Studios with musical partner & producer Justin Weaver, “Craw” showcases their collaborative strength, proving a powerful sound needs only vision, not a large team.
