Alan Matthews Releases Album ‘Imagining’

"Alan Matthews Releases Album ‘Imagining’"

Alan Matthews’ piano has always been about raw human emotion & abstract existential awareness, an inspiration from both heart & mind…his music has ‘gravitas’ as Will Ackerman has commented …now, he’s gone down the rabbit hole of his imagination to come up with a truly inspired, surreal musical journey into the ‘what if’… where the world is seen through child’s eyes… and one can hide in the sun… immersed in divine light… where standing still to dodge the clouds, now becomes forever… a place where wishes might come true… and life is just a dream…

Alan Matthews first three piano albums were produced by Grammy winner & Windham Hill Founder Will Ackerman at Imaginary Road Studios in Vermont. The albums were co-produced and engineered by Grammy nominated musician Tom Eaton. The Ineffable (2017) earned Matthews’ a Best New Artist nomination by ZMR that year. From Denial’s End (2019), ‘A Thought of You’ aired on SiriusXM. All That I Can See (2022) received a Whisperings Album of the Year Honorable Mention. Will Ackerman said, “This record is one of the very best recordings I’ve heard in many years.”

Matthews’ next two albums, Seasons Change (2023) and Anonymous Moods (2024), were co-produced with Michael Silverman at Clayton Studios. Anonymous Moods was nominated for Album of the Year by solopiano.com. Ackerman said, “This is a masterpiece! Beauty, surprise… wonder and awe. What a joy!” Now, Alan Matthews continues his prolific artistic run with Imagining (2025), his fourth release in as many years.

Jon Dahlander Releases Album ‘Searching For Solace’

"Jon Dahlander Releases Album ‘Searching For Solace’"

Jon Dahlander’s fifth solo piano project, Searching for Solace, reflects emotions experienced since his last record, Songs for Smiler McGee. The result is an introspective collection of piano solos expressing love and loss, hope and nostalgia.

Screenshot 2025-11-12 at 8.35.09 PM

Jon Dahlander tries to play every piano he sees. While that love of the piano has caused him to be run out of hotel lobbies and bars throughout his life, it also explains why his compositions have found an audience in more than 100 countries totaling more than 150 million streams.

Dahlander became a Beatles fan before he could talk and started playing piano by ear at 5. He played trombone in elementary school band, eventually earning a music scholarship to Trinity University in San Antonio. While there, he retreated to the piano practice rooms, finding catharsis in creating songs and learning old favorites. He was inspired by Windham Hill artists George Winston, Phillip Aaberg and Allaudin Mathieu, whom he sought out to become his teacher.

The love of the piano led to 3 albums in the late 90’s for Dallas-based indie label Carpe Diem Records. In 2000, his wife gave birth to a son with significant special needs and they were in and out of hospitals often. While Jared never spoke, it was very apparent that he loved music too and his father would play for him for hours. When Jared died of kidney failure in 2014, Dahlander again found solace in the piano, eventually releasing Songs for Smiler McGee in 2017.

Dahlander’s fifth solo piano project, Searching for Solace, picks up where Smiler McGee left off, reflecting emotions experienced since then. The result is an introspective collection of piano solos expressing love and loss, hope and nostalgia.

Larkenlyre Releases Album ‘While We Were There’

"Larkenlyre Releases Album ‘While We Were There’"

We couldn’t help ourselves and lost track of time at the pond. Now it was dark and the stars were reflecting in the still waters.

Eventually we retraced our steps through the dark forest to get back to the cottage. Entirely new sounds met us as we emerged from the woods into the marsh.

As we settled in, we were grateful to have windows open, as a whippoorwill serenaded us throughout a deep sleep. We both had countless dreams that night and woke before dawn. We sat and watched the dawn skies turn a thousand colors, at first rich and dark, but finally opening to a vast golden spanse.

Geese flew overhead. They were heading south while we were there.

"Dan Chadburn Releases Album ‘Sacred Balance’"

Sacred Balance is dedicated to the memory of Mark Alan Smith, an extraordinary artist and cherished friend who faced his battle with cancer with courage and grace. This album is offered in his honor with the hope that its music encourages listeners to pause, breathe, and witness the vibrant beauty that surrounds us, even when the world feels chaotic or turned upside down.

Originally composed as a series of pieces for solo piano, the subsequent addition of cello melodies deepens the expressive connection, evoking the quiet strength and sacred calm residing within each of us, even in the presence of life’s turbulent storms. Charu Suri Releases Album ‘Shayan’

"Charu Suri Releases Album ‘Shayan’"

The Sanskrit word for deep sleep or rest, SHAYAN by Charu Suri taps into the healing potential of ancient evening Indian ragas (modal scales). Each track, performed by legendary and GRAMMY-winning musicians, takes listeners on a calming, healing journey that they can listen to before bedtime. The goal for SHAYAN is to calm the body and mind and restore it to a gentle, natural circadian rhythm before bedtime, without the need for drugs or pharmaceuticals.

Screenshot 2025-08-28 at 3.13.06 PM

Pianist and composer Charu Suri treads fearlessly between genres, pulling global influences that range from the mood-anchoring Indian ragas, Sufi music, to the trio. Her ground-breaking albums, The Book of Ragas, and its sequel, The Book of Ragas vol. 2 have often elicited the response, “I’ve never heard this type of sound before.”

One of the few female composers from India to perform work at Carnegie Hall, Charu has lived in four continents, and writes music that reflects her journey as both a traveler and her training as a classical music piano prodigy. She has been playing the piano since the age of five, and performing since the age of nine, and one of her best memories is winning an international piano competition at the age of 15.

What started purely as an experiment with her “Book of Ragas” has turned into a niche that she is now increasingly becoming known for. Her latest album is RAGAS & WALTZES, a first collaboration between her and Preservation Hall’s jazz drummer, Joe Lastie. Recently she recorded her album, RAGS & RAGAS, with bassist John Patitucci, drummer Joe Lastie, drummer Steve Gadd, and pianist Kobi Arad.

Her last album, RAGAS & WALTZES has received a lot of praise from critics. JAZZIZ Magazine has praised its classic reinvention of the European waltz, and All About Jazz said, “These are all Suri originals, with which she creates a mood that is a mix, tune-by-tune, of longing and solemnity, then of a lilting and uplifting beauty, segueing into tender reverence that shifts gear into a segment of lively swing before drifting back to loving respect. And that swing is surely inspired by New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s drummer, Joe Lastie, Jr., sitting in the recording session’s drummer’s chair.”

But she is no stranger to the art of the Songbook too (attribute this to her listening to numerous records of Bill Evans and Billie Holiday as a kid). “The New American Songbook” has garnered many awards, including a “Band Single of the Year” crystal trophy for her song, Bluesy, awarded by the International Singer-Songwriters Association (ISSA) in 2021.

Charu has performed at Lincoln Center and other prestigious concert halls around the world, including St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She often performs with her band, and sometimes as a soloist. Her work was performed by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for the first time on May 13, 2024 at NJPAC.

Victor Towle Releases Album ‘Sleight of Hand’

"Victor Towle Releases Album ‘Sleight of Hand’"

His new album Sleight Of Hand, unlike much string-based New Age music, is not derived from Eastern music tradition. Rather, Victor drew inspiration from his life, his experiences, and his surroundings. Sleight Of Hand evokes the deception and beauty of our beliefs of our experiences. Inspired by the whispers of subtle streams to the cool shade and chilly peaks of the Rocky Mountains, Sleight Of Hand is a reflection on the nature of life, the ephemeral cycle of the seasons, and the raw, emotional foundation of judgements of ourselves as human beings.

Unlike many albums where the pieces are perfected and performed widely live before recording, the music on Sleight Of Hand was written as initial ideas and then refined by Victor through live performance at meditation classes multiple times per week. This process allowed Victor to capture the most distilled form of the ideas and emotions that constitute each piece, creating an end product that is both authentic and field-tested. Then, Victor hand picked the perfect soloist and accompanying musician to add to the secret understanding and desire for the emotion of each song.

With Sleight Of Hand, Victor has successfully tapped into both that universal interconnected experience of being human, and his own personal expression of what it means to be Victor Towle. Sleight Of Hand leaves listeners with simultaneously an affirming answer and an unanswerable question!

Screenshot 2024-11-26 at 5.06.16 PM

Victor Towle is an eclectic and multi-talented artist who has gained recognition in the New Age music scene for his expertise in various styles. Victor soon began his musical journey by listening to classic pop hits on the AM radio he was gifted by his grandfather. Then branching out to legendary guitarists such as the iconic Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, and Wes Montgomery.

Throughout his school years, Victor was exposed to different styles of music, including jazz, which he played in school bands, and rock, pop, and blues, which he played in a party band called “The Band.” His fascination with jazz legends such as John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, and Miles Davis, whom he discovered during this period, continued to shape his musical preferences throughout his life. After completing his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology and Rehabilitation Counseling, respectively, Victor began his professional career in social work and counseling for those who had a brain injury.

As a guitarist and soloist, Victor has grown his instrumental repertoire, owing to his extensive experience as a leader and collaborator. He attributes his musical development to his professional career, which includes working as a Clinical Care Manager for rehabilitation, as well as his involvement with yoga and meditation. Victor’s passion for using his guitar music as an aide in meditative and rehabilitative practices inspired his latest albums, “Acoustic Reflections”,”Colorado Zen,” “The Space In Between”, and “Still Young For Another Day”, which showcases his eclectic musical background and the immersive soundscapes of New Age music.

His album “Colorado Zen” was nominated for New Age Music Acoustic Instrumental Album of the Year and reached #8 on the New Age Music charts (Zone Music Reporter). The song “Spring Crocus” was also featured on Sirius XM Spa channel. His album “The Space In Between” reached #11 and the song “Storm On The Horizon was also added to Sirius XM Spa channel.

David M. Edwards Releases Album ‘Memories of You’

"David M. Edwards Releases Album ‘Memories of You’"

“Memories of You” is the fourth album released by David M. Edwards. It includes 15 original piano pieces that take the listener on a journey featuring a wide range of emotions. From the joyous “Swallows in Flight” through the stormy “Tempest,” we travel through a landscape featuring elements of the natural world. Ultimately the journey comes to rest with a nice “Walk in the Park,” and a magical transport to the peaceful scene of “Dolphins Swimming Underwater.” It’s a journey you’ll want to take again and again.

“David M. Edwards is a pianist of great style and fluency… a manifestation of a timeless collection of beautiful solo piano compositions, ones that will linger for a long while within the musical memory… an album of the heart, performed by a musician who is clearly playing from it. … it is eternal and played with the honesty and sublime brilliance you would imagine from a seasoned master.”

– Steve Shepherd, One World Music Radio

david

David M. Edwards played many different styles of music in his career, including classical, jazz, rock and country (one of his bands was signed to Capitol Records) before finding his own style in New Age piano. His first two albums (released as Dave Edwards) were an eclectic mix of styles drawn from his years as a performer. Following the release of those albums, he felt solo piano was the most natural for him. This led to the release of his third album, “Still the River Flows” in 2019.

After that album was released, he developed a series of serious health issues, including osteoarthritis in his hands, which affected his ability to play the piano or read music. He was unable to play the piano for almost three years. After multiple surgeries and physical therapy, he gradually was able to play and compose music again.

His fourth album, “Memories of You,” is the culmination of his struggle to get back to creating music. While he is still somewhat limited in the amount of time he can spend playing, he plays and records new music as much as possible, and hopes to release several more albums in the coming years.

Gabó Releases ‘Mystic Rocks, New Wind [Ether instrumental version]’

"Gabó Releases ‘Mystic Rocks, New Wind [Ether instrumental version]’"

This version captures the desert’s mystical calmness and soft summer wind.

The music conveys a slow and deep contemplative state.

The mysterious flute motif invites the listener into a mystical experience.

Mystic Rocks…Ether version recalls the spiritual experience of walking alone in the Joshua Tree Park without any baggage.

Gabó has filtered out many layers to reach the spiritual essence of his composition Mystic Rocks, New Wind.

Screenshot 2025-05-12 at 6.10.04 PM

Gabó’s music is overall instrumental and Electronic, but with an eclectic blend of influences from other genres such as Alternative, New Age, Reggae, Rock, Classical, Jazz, Singer/Songwriter, and ethnic music. Originally from South America, after completing his formal studies in Electronic production from Berklee College in Boston, he lived many years in France, where he grasped some of Europe’s vintage film and Electronic scene through further music studies and collaborations.

Although not a frequent performer, Gabó has had the opportunity to play at interesting venues such as the legendary House of Blues (Los Angeles), the scenic Pismo Beach State park in central California, and the New World Symphony (Miami Beach). As much of his music is instrumental and cinematic, accompanying visuals play a very important role. He has performed with or for visual media at the Paris III city hall (France), O Cinema (Miami Beach), and the Soundscape Park (Miami Beach), among others. Gabó has been a five-time recipient of the ASCAP Plus Awards thanks to his performances at alternative spaces.

In addition to creating music, Gabó’s studies in music therapy have infused the way he composes and performs – especially his slow works – with a healing awareness. This is especially the case on his 2019 Ambient album “A Desert Night of Tranquility,” and it has a central place on current live-streamings.

Currently, although most of his productions remain instrumental, collaborations with vocalists are more frequent. He works between New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami.
